Every year International Nurses Day is celebrated on 12 May to commemorate the anniversary of Florence Nightingale’s birthday. This day also celebrates the contribution done by nurses to society around the world. On this day the International Council of Nurses produces an International Nurses kit to educate and assist health workers globally with a different theme every year. This year’s theme is “Nurses a voice to lead: Invest on Nursing and respect rights to secure global health.
Considering the importance of this day, Lamp lighting is a ceremonial occasion to initiate the nursing students into their future professional life, and the vows which the students pledge to fulfill reflect values required for the Nursing and the spirit of dedicated service.
To inaugurate the annual event ‘NUEVO COMIENZO’ of IQ City Institute of Nursing Sciences at Srijani Auditorium, Durgapur were present Mrs. Anindita Mukherjee-Mayor DMC, Dr Pathik Khumbakar, Dean Academic Research NIT, Durgapur, Ms Radha Saini, Consultant WHO, Smt. Sudarshana Gangulee, Director Mani group, Dr Goutam Ghose, Principal IQMC, Dr Param Hans Mishra COO, IQMCH, Dr Jeyadeepa R, Principal, IQINS.
By this ceremony, our institute takes an attempt to guide the students in choosing the appropriate values that will make them dedicated and efficient members and health team comprising members of the interdependent health professional.
Today 157 students of seventh batch B.Sc and 5th batch GNM nursing students took their oaths for tending to the sick and ailing, maintaining and promoting the health of the people, irrespective of caste, creed, and religion community guide the nursing students to choose the appropriate service for the mankind that they need to offer. The graduation of 101 graduates from the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd batch B.Sc. Nursing and 1st batch M.Sc. Nursing was also done today.
