World Breastfeeding Week - 2025

Venue: IQIONS, IQCMCH, Rural Community, Jemua Theme: “Prioritize Breastfeeding: Create Sustainable Support Systems” The IQ City Institute of Nursing Science, Durgapur, observed World Breastfeeding Week, 2025 with great enthusiasm, highlighting the benefits and significance of breastfeeding. The celebrations were organized by Principal, and the faculty of Obstetrics and Gynaecological Nursing, Child Health Nursing, IQINS. DAY I (01.08.2025)- Inaugural session & Panel Discussion On August 1^st, 2025, the celebration began with inaugural ceremony attended by Principal and faculty members of IQIONS at 11:00 AM followed by Panel discussion by nursing students on topics related to breastfeeding. DAY II (04.08.2025)- Poster competition & Quiz Competition. On 4^th August 2025 the Institute devising inter-class Quiz Competition and Poster Competition for the students from 11am to 1pm. DAY III (05.08.2025)- Health Teaching & Demonstration. On 5^th August 2025 the health teaching and demonstration session was conducted by nursing students focusing on the scientific basis and practical tips for successful breastfeeding. DAY IV (06.08.2025)- Community Outreach Program On 6^th August, the team visited the local community health centre and interacted with expectant and new mothers and also with family members. Puppet show and slogan campaign was organized by nursing students. DAY V(07.08.2025)- Health teaching, demonstration and Valedictory Session

• On 7^th August, 2025 the event began with welcome session and felicitation of the Special invitees, followed by special speech by Dr. Gunadhar Maiti, Vice-Principal, Dept. of OBG, IQCMCH, health teaching and demonstration. The event was brought to a close by giving thanks to the esteemed guests, Principal, faculties and students.
