The Lamp Lighting Ceremony 2026

The Lamp Lighting Ceremony for the 11th batch of BSc Nursing and the 9th batch of GNM students of IQ City Institute of Nursing Sciences, Durgapur, was held on 27th February 2026 at Amartya Sen Hall, 4th Floor, Annexe Building of IQ City Medical College and Hospital. The ceremony was graced by Chief Guest Ms. Sumita Abraham, Acting Principal, School of Nursing, Central Hospital, Kalla, along with Guests of Honour Dr. Neerja Shastri, Principal, IQ City Medical College and Hospital, and Ms. Dyna VJ, Nursing Superintendent, IQ City Medical College and Hospital. The dignitaries, along with Ms. Dr. B. Camala, Principal, lit the ceremonial lamp, symbolizing the light of knowledge, compassion, and service. A floral tribute to Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing, was offered as a mark of respect and gratitude. The programme included invocation, ceremonial lamp lighting, and the oath-taking ceremony where students pledged to uphold the values of compassion, integrity, and ethical nursing practice. The dignitaries encouraged the students to serve society with dedication and professionalism. The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks, marking a meaningful beginning for the new batch as they embark on their journey in the nursing profession.
