International Nurses Day is celebrated on 12th may to commemorate the birth anniversary of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing. Nurses various events and activities are organized all over the world to celebrate the international Nurses Day every year. Hence, IQ city institute of nursing sciences planed to observe the day with various events like Public Speech , Fancy dress ,Reel making, Poster competition, to highlight the importance of nurses towards in the health care industry.
International Nurses Day celebrated on12thMay 2023 at IQINS college premises. The celebration started at 10.30 am with formalwelcome of all dignitaries by Mrs.Vijayalakshmi, Prof. IQINS. The dignitaries were felicitated by Prof. Dr. Jayadeepa .R Principal IQINS. The chief guest of the prgramme was Brig. Dr. Gautam Ghose Principal IQIMS, Guest of Honour Ms. Suparna Sengupta, CEO, IQ City Medical College and Hospital. Other dignitaries were Dr.Gunadhar Maiti , Medical superintendent IQ City Medical College and Hospital and, Ms.Vidya Maskar, Nursing superintendent of IQMCH. Key note address was given by Prof Dr. Jayadeepa .R, Principal IQ City Institute of Nursing Sciences. Ms Florence Nightingale’s birthday was celebrated by cutting a cake and Sweets were distributed all students and faculty. On this day various events like Public speech, Reel making, Fancy dress and poster competitions were conducted on the theme of nurses day “Our Nurses Our Future “. Based on the evaluation criteria judges selected winners for each competition .The meeting ended with a vote of thanks by Mr. Binu Xavier Associate Professor IQINS.
